BEBEK BALI is meant to bring the very unique Balinese ambiance to major cities in Indonesia, and eventually, to the world - and at the same time - to excel in the specialization of the food, in this case : Duck Cuisine.
All of our “In-House Specialties” as well as some other specials on our menu are either upgraded from Bali’s and Indonesia’s traditional recipes, or especially invented through intensive In-House Research & Development, keeping authenticity of Indonesian spices in mind.
At the end of July 2004, owned by an Indonesian Family, the first BEBEK BALI Resto-Café-Gallery –IN BALI- (from henceforth referred to as : BEBEK DI BALI) was started to be built.
The first phase of BEBEK DI BALI is built in a 900sqm land portion on the fore-part of a total of 2700sqm property located at Jl. Petitenget 108, Kerobokan ('quiet' part of Kuta). Open-style, surrounded with lush greens and water features and ponds, there are mainly 2 buildings adjoined by one of a kind garden walkway.
The front building is where the Bar is, with small area for casual dining. On second floor is a mezzanine lounge with ‘under the sky’ open-deck. This area can accommodate approximately 30 people.
The middle building is where the Main Dining Room and the very elegant Gallery are. One side of this area is walled by waterfalls, which along with all other details found in this place, causing amazingly peaceful, romantic and warm ambiance. The dining area is set for 30 people in seating arrangement, and around 50 people in buffet arrangement.
On the rear, is a detached dining area, which basically an open Bale with alang-alang roof, luxuriously decorated, and is set to accommodate 8-12 people.
Being ‘truly’ in Bali, gives us the liberty to build this first BEBEK DI BALI establishment in a truly authentic Balinese style …
Every detail of this establishment, such as the roofs, the poles, the floors, the lamps, the steps, the walls, the doors, the water features, the furniture, fittings, even the wash-basins !! (we have these 2 admirable ‘duck’ sinks) .. are designed from the heart of the owner, and are made mostly in Bali by talented Balinese and some Javanese craftsmen.
We even have an adorable, very cute, MINIATURE RICE FIELD .. with real paddies and all … and a stunning 8x3 meters HAND-CARVED WALL !! .. Can be easily guessed : the image carved on the wall pictures life of DUCKS IN BALI : some ducks in pair, with background views of Bali such as Coconut Trees, Rice Fields, Mountains, the Rivers (with holes pouring out real waters into the layered ponds down below...)
On top of the 6 In-House Specialties made of duck (Crispy Duck, Grilled Duck, Betutu Duck, Green Chili Duck, Duck Steak and Duck Satay) and 3 In-House Combination menus, rich variety of traditional and international dishes can also be found on the menu. From Australian Tenderloin Steak to Crispy Fresh Water Fish ; from Spaghetti Bolognaise to Bebek Bali Special Nachos.
The Bar is serving broad choices of beverages, from varieties of tropical fruit juice, local beers, to international spirits and cocktails. SPECIALS from the Bar are Bebek Bali Cocktail, Sanur Beach Paradise and Bebek Bali Coffee (‘In-House’ alcoholic cocktails) – and Tropical Milk Shake, Kintamani Delight and Coffee De Penjor (‘In-House’ non-alcoholic cocktails).
As much as we try to share the maximum story .. words only would not be able to describe the reality of this very special establishment ! …
