HISTORY

Indonesia, around the 16th century experienced major change due to the expansion of Islamic religion.

The fall of Majapahit Kingdom, the most famous and considered by many as the most successful Hindu-Javanese kingdom in the history of Indonesia, marked the peak of Balinese culture.

Artists, priests, and Hindu royal families members from Java were all fleeing to Bali and brought with them their skills, books, and other valuables.

Bali is the only place in Indonesia whose majority of the people remains Hindu today.
