Balinese Hinduism divides the society into four castes : the Brahmana caste, the Satriya caste, the Weisya caste, and the Sudra caste.

The priests belong to the « Brahmana » caste.

The officials, warriors, and noblemen are members of the second caste : « Satriya ».

Traders and entrepreneurs, artists belong to the « Weisya » caste.

Farmers and laborers are all grouped into « Sudra » caste.
