The second type of Balinese textile is the most famous one : songket clothes.
Although historically could only be used by members of the highest caste, Brahmana
, these songket clothes today can be worn by anybody who has enough money and position within the
community.
Songket textiles produced by mixing silver or gold thread with
regular thread, another different technique from the creation of Prada textiles.
